Peter,
Does your problem arise only with an SQL statement used in a DTW_SQL
function or does it also arise when using STRSQL?

For example, if a file has a text field with the word %stuff embedded in
it, then this presents a problem when you wish to select records where
this text field contains the word %stuff, for both DTW_SQL and STRSQL.

But SQL provides the escape-expression syntax for handling this. For
example, the syntax to select any record where column name ESDESC
contains a percent sign would be:

where esdesc like '%+%%' ESCAPE '+'

Subject: [WEB400] Special characters handling in Net.Data

Hi list:

I saw somebody had this issue reported in the archives but no answers
were
replied to it. In my case, I am dealing with facility ids (6/A) with
special characters in it, like &, %, etc. and that is blowing up my
SELECT
statements.

Does anybody knows a simple workaround solution on this? We do not want

to present the alternative to change any data because we are talking
about
thousands of combinations that will be involved.

Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated.
