Greetings all,

As some of you might know I've done a little work with
PHP on the i5 but there has been one thing that's kind of bugged me.
When there is functionality available in RPG that you need on the PHP
side of things, the mechanism that is used to access that functionality
takes a little bit of work using the PHP toolkit, IMHO. So what I've
done is written a very short toolkit abstraction layer that you can use
in your PHP applications that access RPG code. The goal of it is to
introduce some more structure in PHP applications on the i.

I have a blog post that I've written about it. You can
see it at http://www.eschrade.com/page/model-layer-toolkit-4bbcb772. I
have also made the code available on Github
http://github.com/kschroeder/iSeries-PHP-toolkit. Please download it,
try it, test it and modify it to better suit what you need to do. While
it works, it is still pretty basic and there is a lot of additional
functionality that could be abstracted out.
