Scott,
several months ago, I was struggling getting PASE stuff to work (pgp
and sftp) and found my config in this state. I had a heck of a time
cleaning this up...

I now remember following this "redpiece" when I was jacking with MySQL...

Hello Scott,

I'm not to this & would never try it on my own. This is from the IBM manual 'sg247398 - Discovering MySQL on
i5' page 43.

Note: In order to make your work easier, we recommend that you change your user
profile to your home directory by using the following command:
CHGPRF HOMEDIR(?/usr/local/mysql/bin?)
You must sign off and then sign on again for the change to take effect. By using this
command, every time you start the i5/OS PASE environment by using CALL
QP2TERM, you always be in the /usr/local/mysql/bin folder, which will be easier to
invoke the MySQL commands.

Changing your home directory to /usr/local/mysql/bin is a really bad idea. Now any software (mostly Unix stuff) that tries to use your home directory is going to store it in /usr/local/mysql/bin.

Why would you do this? What possible advantage can it have for you?!
