I have a solution serving 400 web (companies) users in a daily real "heavy"
environment - tons of MB served - and even if processing "get though" it is
all served by max 10 jobs under apache with a CPU util less than 10% (avf
0,1%) - and the application is running on a "small 520 iseries" - single
processor with lots of other things to do (ERP, domino etc.).

Subject: [WEB400] Which scales better? J2EE, PHP, or CGIDEV2?

Quoted from Get Thee to the Web, Part 3 by Paul Tuohy:

"Scalability relates to how many people will be accessing your application
at
the same time, and how well your application can handle the workload
without
detrimental response times. Usually, you would use Java for high usage, PHP
for
medium, and CGIDEV2 for below medium."

What makes people THINK that J2EE scales better than PHP, and PHP scales
better
than CGIDEV2? Is that thinking correct?
