Joe:
If you are using IBM's Client Access as your 5250 emulator, go to
"Edit", then "Preferences" and select "Web browser" from the menu --
then on the next screen you need to fill in the path to use to launch
the desired browser. You can click on the "Browse" button to find it.
In my case, I use Mozilla Firefox, so I navigated to c:\Program Files
then the "Mozilla Firefox" directory, and selected "firefox.exe" -- so
the path name inserted looks like:
C:\Program files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe
To test it, on a 5250 screen, type "
http://www.midrange.com" on the
command line and then click on this with the mouse.
So, just include any desired "URL" as a literal on the screen, (or it
can be a dynamically displayed value stored in a table, and displayed in
an output field on the screen, etc.) -- and IBM's Client Access 5250
emulator will let you click on it.
(To test this, you can just create a little DDS menu with SDA ...)

Anyone know how, if possible, to have a green screen make a call to the
system browser and passing a url supplied by the display?
