Buck,
You are correct... in my hurry to "convict"... I had forgotten that
i5_naming was for how the tables are referenced to the schemas.
And I have to remind myself repeatedly that there is so much emotion
lost in text. Much of what I said was out right snarky... tongue in
cheek...
Less than have serious, most frustrated.
And yes, everything you said below is spot on... I do not intend to
alienate any of the help I have been receiving in here... this resource
is awesome! All of you have stepped up and supported me to get me where
I am now.
As always I truly respect the power of DB2 and the i.... I just have
to get all this new syntax into my thick head!
Just for a little information about me... I am a total smart ass, full
of shit, crazy, way out side the box kind of hard core coder very
passionate about bending machine to my will.
Thank you for correcting my course!
Rob

I'd like to share this hard-won personal lesson: Telling a MySQL guru
that his database software was crap was not the best way to get him to
help me. Mocking the documentation because it's written in an unfamiliar
style put me in a mindset to avoid the docs in favour of my objectively
false assumptions. Being snarky to the people who helped me ended up
alienating the only source of genuine help I was getting. In short, I
was sabotaging myself by pushing away the unfamiliar instead of
embracing it as something new to learn. Don't be like me.
