Thanks for the reply. It's similar but not quite the same. The error I am seeing is below.

typings ERR! message Unable to connect to "https://api.typings.org/entries/dt/es6-shim/tags/0.31.2%2B20160317120654";
typings ERR! caused by self signed certificate in certificate chain
