Note the prior link describes how to do it with PASE stuff. I just don't
(yet) know where curl/wget is looking for the cacerts file by default,
hence the environment variable.

It may be more similar than you think.

When using SSL you need to trust the CA of the certificate. This is done
normally by importing the CA chain into your system. Now, I know how to do
this with the IBM i, but not with these new addon open source things.

I'm sure I'll need to figure it out one day, though... and I'll add it to
my SSL documentation. :) I just haven't found time or need (the main
motivator for me) yet.

Aaron,

Thanks for the reply. It's similar but not quite the same. The error I
am seeing is below.

typings ERR! message Unable to connect to "
https://api.typings.org/entries/dt/es6-shim/tags/0.31.2%2B20160317120654
"
typings ERR! caused by self signed certificate in certificate chain

Thanks,
Todd

I’ve got my local node.js dev environment set up with the various
config files (tsconfig.json, package.json and typings.json). The
Angular2 tutorial adds a postintall “typings install” and that uses
the typings.json config file. This typings install fails every time
for a self-signed certificate in the security chain and fails to
connect:
Unable to connect to https://api.typings.org/entries/dt/es
6-shim/tags/0.31.2%2B20160317120654

I have set the strict-ssl setting to false countless times. I’ve read
that creating a .typingsrc file may help. I’ve toyed with that but
still no joy.

Any guidance and/or tips are appreciated.
