Hi, Brad:

I do not know if it might be possible to install those PTFs for V7R2 on IBM i 7.3 ... because 5733-OPS seems to have its own version / release / modificaiton level of "1.1.0" ... and that only adds to the confusion.

Because this open source stuff runs in PASE, it does not follow our usual notion of TGTRLS(*PRV) support -- instead, PASE uses the rules of AIX as far as "compatibility" between releases, and that is a very different animal from what we are traditionally used to with IBM i and OS/400.

If you have access to a V7R2 system with Node4 already installed and running, it might be possible to save the "Node4" directory and all of its contents, and then restore that on a V7R3 system, and it might work. But, it may also very well not work, due to those other prerequisites.

Ok, so the PTF won't work that Bryan posted?

I thought for sure I saw a V7R3 announcement showing Node4 and Python or
something else as the new options.

Haha.. Well, now anyone using Jade needs to do some fixing too since it's
been renamed to Pug for trademark issues.. Aaron.. easy way to do that? :)
Maybe an article on the way?

Hi, Brad:

As far as I can tell, Node4 is not yet available on V7R3. I have looked
on several V7R3 systems and "Node4" is definitely not on there. When I run:
node --version

on V7R3, it reports 10.29 ....

Since the support for Node4 was just released, as far as I know, there is
no way it could have been included in V7R3, which was "canned" for
distribution several weeks ago.

Apparently someone needs to get after the team that packages support for
Node4, to find out why they have not yet created PTFs for V7R3.

Hope that helps,
