Good points. I double checked the JSON data with the first link - no problems. I normally use Eclipse, which has a nice JSON editor/verifier/formatter included. That had already found several problems earlier, and that was how I had gotten Firefox to work.

Its looking more and more like I am not understanding ccsid correctly and am messing up something(s) there.

btw, lest I forget, thank you all for the ideas and suggestions. I do appreciate it.

If you are just checking the format, jsonlint.com is a great site to vet and ID any issues. Copy and paste the data onto the site, it will tell you where the issues are.

On very complex JSON, it is a lifesaver and even on simple stuff, it has pointed me to really simple errors I have made....
