No it will not affect standard cost. It will affect only capacity calculations. For example, if a job has 4 hrs. set for a particular Work Center that works 8 hrs. a day with an efficiency of 50%, it will show in Capacity Planning as taken 2 full days at that work center. As far as standard cost is concerned, it will be 8 (hrs.) multiplied by the standard cost at that Work Center. If your cost is set up correctly though, it should take into consideration that in order to produce 8 hrs. worth of work, that work center will have to be busy for 16 hrs. Clients were I had set up eficiency, we had usually done so to separate 2 work centers that do the same job (alternate routings) and have a different relative eficiency.
