Walter,

Glad to see you're back in town.

Actually I was just trying to help the other fellow.

"request the data through the XML" What does that mean? I thought that
XML was just a scripting language for data. Are you saying that this also
a product? And it is used as a method to interconnect between two
disparate data sources? If so, how do I find out more information about
that?

Rob,
You are not out of luck.

There is a product call DB2 Connect. (sorry it is chargable)

This product allows the iSeries to communicate with an SQL server. DECS
could then be used.

Another solution would be to request the data via the XML if you are
running R510.

I hope this helps

I am not sure. I would have to study the manuals, redbooks and whatnot.

I wonder if you can do a ADDRDBDIRE and access the SQL server with native
iSeries tools?

Hi,

I have a database on an Microsoft SQL server that I would like to connect
to in a Notes database. Is there a way to use DECS to do this, or,
because I am using AS400 as my server platform, am I stuck with DB2?

Thanks

Mike
