Hey Chris we are running iSeries with Trendmciro 2.6SP1 with no issues
other than the fact it creates allot of tmp files which I have to
periodically delete and the Emanager content filtering does not work yet.
I have it on running on 20 Domino servers on several iSeries partitions.

Check in SMCONF.NSF under mail scan Temporary directory and look for the
detach path. Should be something like. "/Scanmail/MailTemp/". Then go and
check the IFS rights on that folder and sub folders. /Scanmail/MailTemp/
The rights for QNOTES to that folder and subfolders, should be RWX.

Also did you sign the databases in Domino with the server ID?

What version of Domino and what version of OS400?

As far as IFS virus scanning you can
run a virus scanner against the IFS by mapping a drive from your
PC/Server to the iSeries and scan it that way via manual or scheduled
Scans.
If you want something more full-time you can buy the BYTEWARE product. It
is pricey. Another company is also puts out a product called Safenet400.

I think the Bytware is based on McAffee's scan engine. See this link for
more info http://www.bytware.com/products/sgav.html

I too would be interested in a native Trend Micro product for scanning the

IFS on i5/OS (or OS/400). We are very happy with our Trend Micro
products, and they have to date, kept our internal network clean... Their

products are top notch. From an administrator's point of view, pretty
easy to use (in a smallish shop).

I am less than impressed with McAffee's engine. They don't seem to keep
up as fast as Trend does. Perhaps if you contacted your Trend support and

you too are interested in this product then they'll start to see the
demand.

subject: Trend 2.6SP1

Speaking of Trend - who has 2.6SP1 installed on their iSeries? Mine has
been up for a while, but not in a good state... I got around the actual
problem I had at blocking viruses (it's good when the application does
that!), but my pupdate cannot be run programmatically or from console
(crashes the server), and I cannot get it to block attachments by
extension. Not sure of other problems...

I know there is an issue with file authority, but I told that to the Trend

technicians and they just disregarded the statement. I get the "file
cannot be created" errors in my log.nsf and according to the support site
for Trend, it's pointing to an authority issue. Even the error message
before pupdate crashes the server points to an authority issue.

I have made certain that I have QNOTES as owner on all domino IFS files
and I have even addes QSECOFR with all rights to IFS objects and data from

the root server all the way down to the Trend folders. I'm rather unhappy
with trend support...any tips?
