This kind of feature was asked for intensely for the initial release, including for files. We wanted a FILE() keyword on the File spec to allow a variable name to be used at runtime--this feature is in VisualAge RPG, but I guess AS/400 can't handle it? <g> The data area keyword should have also supported a variable name. This is not in any release or planned for the next one as far as I know.
