We IPL our 400 every night, and I leave my PC running all the time. Also, I usually leave the CA connection going when I leave at the end of the day. What I do is take the Disconnect option, then Connect. This always works. I believe that the client (my PC) does not know that the AS/400 has terminated its part of the connection. Similarly, when I use Explorer to look at the 400, sometimes I get the message that the system is not available. All I need to do, usually, is click the Retry button.
