First the Caveat: I don't use MS products at all.
Don't you have to connect to the 400 to use ODBC? And doesn't that connection
start a job on the 400 that
persists until you disconnect? And doesn't ODBC support a CALL interface (SQL
CALL also known as stored
procedures)? So can't you run something like?
CALL QCMDEXC ("OVRDBF FILE(PERFDATA) TOFILE(PERFDATA) TOMBR(CURRENT)",
X'000000005200000F')
SELECT * FROM PERFDATA
Or is the real problem that MS Query won't let you control the SQL statements
so you don't get a chance to
run the override?
