Whilst on the subject of remote commands anyone know if this possible?

Consolidated data warehouse files built on AS/400 - no problem
FTP files to remote NT server - no problem
FTP to issue a call to a java program to populate corresponding
data warehouse on NT Server.

I have been told its not possible and have been reduced to writing DOS batch
files. Apparently the NT side of things uses a third party product to suck
data in, but (for some reason) is not reliable enough and I could control it
better from
the AS/400 by pushing and pulling files as I require them. By gaining
control of the transfer I loose the power to be able to hook into
standard programs on NT side.

If anyone knows the NT side of things well enough to know if this is
remotely (excuse the pun) possible I would be very grateful to hear.
