Avi,

Sorry, but that doesn't compute. <g> First, complexity aside, the whole
world knows how hackable the M$ stuff is, simply because these kids DO know
the platform so well. But does knowing how to exploit weaknesses in the OS
mean that these kids know ANYTHING about business application programming?
IMO, if the argument is to deploy NT solution because they can have it
maintained by their 12 yr old, they'll be out of business soon. If
reliability and security are at all desired (and I hope we all agree that
they are), then the AS400 deserves a second look. Also, a point about
"cheaper": I think too many studies have conclusively proved that over time,
NT is NOT a money saver. Perceived value is just that: a perception. People
see sticker price as the beginning and end of their expenses, but this is
just not correct.

Subject: NT vs AS/400

I think that we miss the point ...
In the past, NT4 was much cheaper then the AS/400, BUT today it does not
matter any more ...
Who is going to put his Internet application or B2B or B2C or on an AS/400
...
I saw what it took to tinker with websphere and hardly any one knew how to
go about it while every youngster knows Microsoft in and out ...
Think about it ...
