First of all, nice font. It reminds me of my stock portfolio.

NT does seem to be easier to get up and running. But that is just the
start of the solution. Keeping the database attached to a dynamic web site
accurate on these servers is were the real headaches begin. I haven't found
an Intel based database that accurately stores the magnitude of the
information that the AS/400 does quite easily. I sleep much better at night
knowing that the data is stored on the AS/400 and the unattended backup
works correct or effectively reports why not.

Ask one of those 'youngsters' to make a backup of the database and
restore it somewhere else. It most likely can be done but I would bet that
it isn't correct the first time it is attempted. To come closer to reality,
try it on a 24/7 solution without dropping the entire web site.

I think that we miss the point ...
In the past, NT4 was much cheaper then the AS/400, BUT today it does not
matter any more ...
Who is going to put his Internet application or B2B or B2C or on an AS/400
...
I saw what it took to tinker with websphere and hardly any one knew how to
go about it while every youngster knows Microsoft in and out ...
Think about it ...
