Do you _always_ do what IBM tells you? <vbg> Anyway, I would submit that prior to an upgrade, if you need to apply ptf's *perm to have enough room to load the software, that you will be completely out of room as soon as you finish loading the newly bloated OS for whatever release you are moving to, let alone loading two more cd's full of ptf's. As for your example, it was a case study for what I said. You got 1.4 G out of 20, which is not the same as 1.4 G out of 50.
