Funny... I tend to agree with Chuck... But, on occasion, I waffle, and the fact is I still got all that old license crap on my 170. I only have 8G, so unless I can hook up an F70 to use for archive/backup, I'm going to have to take Chuck's advice, fairly soon. But the DASD has been sufficient to this point... As long as I can look at the PRTDSKINF (and concentrating on the "x" biggest hogs) clear enough space in say.. 5 or 10 minutes, I'll leave the stuff on. Here's a link from Tech Studio (thank you, IBM...:-) of license program sizes (http://www.as400.ibm.com/tstudio/tech_ref/lpsize/lpszdex.htm). It's useful to figure these as a % of total DASD, to determine if it's worth it the trouble. The percent is key, because what makes sense on my 8G may not make sense on a bigger system that is only at 80% - 90% usage. BTW, a 170 is a GREAT machine.. a really FINE development box...! (Especially when only 1 person is using it...;-) Long while back, Bob C. recommended IBM put a POWER chip in a xSeries frame.. and price-point. Now that WOULD be something to behold...! jt Y'all "Have a GREAT day...! And a BETTER ONE TOMORROW~~~:-)" (sm) > -----Original Message----- > From: midrange-l-admin@midrange.com > [mailto:midrange-l-admin@midrange.com]On Behalf Of R.
