Using the IBM SAVLIB, SAVOBJ cmds ?

Do you know that data compression and data compaction only compress 2 to 1 ?

How would you do this. The last time I timed a save to tape vs a save to
save file, the save to tape was faster.

Ok, so no save file. Do you have to license the knowledge of how to emulate
a tape drive from IBM or do you already know how to do it ?

How will you cable attach the VTS to the iSeries? Do IBM tape drives use
standard SCSI connectors? Are the SCSI device orders all industry standard?

Any security concerns to address. WIll you encrypt the data that is on the
CD? If not, will it be readable ( and changeable ) from a pc with a cd r/w
drive ? Will a security audit find fault with all the cd's containing a
companies sensitive data sitting on a shelf in the computer room or in the
operators cubicle?
