Oh, it is really important that you very these off prior to doing the save.
Don't count on the ENDSBS *ALL *IMMED being appropriate. And you have to
restore the ifs portion of these items before doing the rstcfg of same.
Obscure - but documented.

Rick,

I had to do a full restore from a SAVE 21 tape recently and everything was
restored fine except for the NWS storage spaces for an IPCS card I had. I
never really resolved what went wrong there. This was on V4R5. So if you
are
running any MFIOP/IPCS/INS/IXA cards in your system, you might want to give
that some extra attention.

As Andy already said, SPOOL data is not saved/restored by this process.

Referring to the GO SAVE operations menu...we are trying to back up both
our
system and application - based data in preparation of a disc drive
replacement.

Does the "ENTIRE SYSTEM" option (21) save both system stuff (e.g. usrprf,
authority, config) as well as system and user libraries?

If, heaven forbid, a restore situation arises, can all of the appropriate
commands (e.g. rstaut, rstconfig, rstusrprf, rstlib, rstobj, rstdoc, etc.)
be executed from that tape without any extra considerations?

Does option 22, Save System data, perform the equivalent of the old SAVSYS?
If not, what option on this menu does?

Thanks much.
