We do it with FTP now on iSeries - OVRDBF STDOUT SOMELIB/SOMEFILE

This puts the messages from ftp to that file instead of the screen.

The other thing is to use QShell - for all its limitations, it can do
*nix-type stuff over lib/obj things.

But it doesn't have 'man' - that's what google is for  <g>

Seriously though, I agree but I don't have enough experience to know if
there is an OVRSTDF command, for STDIO...?

And if not, WHY not...?!?
