If you IPL'd in manual mode, the console would auto-configure and you could
create your new console for your controlling subsystem. Now your win98 PC
operations console died. You are running V4R4. The new PC is running XP.
Your shop is pure Linux, except for the operations console. Try getting it
working. I bet you I can walk someone over the phone to configure the new
twinax console faster than an XP operations console expert can tell you
where to down load the right patches for XP.

Let me ask you this. One time we had a twinax console go bad. We
replaced it with another model and it failed to work. Had to use
RUNRMTCMD to manually configure it.

If you had come from a shop with all experience with Op's Console, tried a
twinax terminal, and had this happen would you feel the same bigotry
against twinax that you feel towards Op's console?
