Doug - Back on the System/38, I often used the test mode switch on the old dumb tubes to look at screen attributes, and until IBM eliminated it, you could get a table on the screen showing a list of _all_ of the EBCDIC characters with their corresponding hex values by calling program QARDRIVE. Nowadays you can use the STRCPYSCN and send the output to a file. The hex attribute value will show up in front of each field in the outfile.
