I understand what you are saying, but, Have you ever successfully did this memory management and then got the equivalent response? Default configuration runs out of *BASE and that just does not work unless you have heavy Netserver use. The more you use it, the faster it becomes. Of course dedicating a CPU and memory to the task with an IXS card solves this problem. But now if your OS/400 CPU is tasked with lots of other duties, you should upgrade your whole CPU, add memory, or got the IXS route. Chris Bipes -----Original Message----- The IFS is a pretty poor performer under OS/400. Now, using the same disk drives and controllers, and carve out a portion of them to be used by an IXS card running some sort of Windows; and you'll get a lot better performance. -- This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
