You should change the EDTCDE to one which includes both (all edit codes
are listed in several of the RPG and DDS manuals).  The purpose of the
EDTCDE is to determine how the data is formatted for output, and this is
the correct way to specify the attributes you'd like displayed with an
externally defined field.  Also you could use the edit word feature if
your needs are more complex than the ones specified as EDTCDE options.
