I'm as green screen savvy as the next guy and the guy after that. I code API calls nearly every day. I refuse to waste my time doing this when a function to do so is provided in a free GUI tool that works just fine. Now if I had to do this on a single system more than 20 or 30 times I'd consider the API. Since it needs be done 'zactly one time it would take me longer even to restore such a program to call the API than check the box in iNav.
Besides, writing programs to call system APIs is fraught with peril for the average sysop/sysadmin while checking boxes was learned at age 4.

You do not "have" to use Ops Nav. to configure Proxy arp. There is an API QTOCC4IF to do this. http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/iseries/v5r4/index.jsp?topic=/apis/qtocc4if.htm I wrote a CLP to do this but I cannot locate it quickly. _____________________________ Bryan Dietz Aktion Associates "i want an i" midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx wrote on 08/17/2006 11:21:17 AM: -> Guy, -> -> The third IP address must be configured in iNav and is created as a -> *VIRTUAL IP.
