Just an FYI,

The current line of Express systems can be ordered with any of 3 console
options with 'NO' change in price.
Twinax, you supply the dumbtube and cabling
LanConsole, No twinax card installed and uses 1 of the base ethernet
ports, you supply the PC(s)
ThinConsole, No Twinax card installed and plugs into 1 of the HMC ports.
This is single purpose
Linux appliance based on I believe the Neoware C50 thinclient.

RE: small i5 recommendations

Honestly, add a twinax card and put a dumb tube on top of the box. I
have a twinax card or two with cables that will work if they have a slot
for it available. Call me 707 586-0551 x 1102

Subject: small i5 recommendations

Ordering a small i5 520 Express (600/30 cpw) for a customer (and BP
already established) Going with mirrored system, 4 - 35 gb drives and 1
gig memory for a 10 user shop running rpgii apps (their choice, not
mine..) - discussing conversion to rpgiv No twinax in existing system.
V5R4.
No operations or network staff.
Client wants system to sit in the corner & just run.

Should I go with HMC or new Thin Console? (Leaning to new Thin Console)
Any other features strongly recommended?
Budget very tight. This will be system for next 7-8 years.
Already have existing power system & generator.
