Aha! Of course...a new convert! The new tool is the exciting tool, the old tool is the boring tool. You might want to contact the owner of my business...he hasn't voiced that yet. You know...I don't love any company, including my own. I just do this for a living. If IBM kills the i5, I'll do something else. But you know what? IBM won't...at least not for 10 more years...and that's all I need. On 9/7/06, Steve Richter <stephenrichter@xxxxxxxxx> wrote:

That's not how everyone wants to run their business. that is what I would have said last year before I learned SQL procedures. The owner of your business wants you to code in a SQL procedures because the programmer is very productive, the code is portable and there is a much larger pool of SQL procedure programmers available than RPG. RPG excels at green screen apps and well the company you love so much is killing that part of the system. -Steve -- This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
