You may not need the HMC for a basic LPAR. But again it depends on what
type of partitioning you want to do. I just want multiple OS400 LPARS - development vs. prod type deal. Let's also say I wanted to do a third, forth or fifth LPAR, what are the software/hardware/licensing ramifications of that? Just found the HMC pricing in the "Quick Pricer" pdf. Looks like it is feature 7310-C05 and costs $1830 list (not including cables, which I don't know what I need) - whew, that's expensive just for the need to do LPARS.
