The phone guys like to sell a VPN "solution" that
is strickly hardware. I went through this with a
customer. It looks like you get two routers.

A couple of folks on the list were of the opinion
that it was not needed.

There is of course, the VPN(software) solution that
comes on the box. It appears to be a confusing way
to make a simple remote connection.

I still don't know myself what is a better solution
for a simple remote location.

Currently our ISP is Bellsouth (DSL Business Account)

In the past we have not really done anything remotely so we
have just been using the Standard Netopia router with a Dell
Switch for accessing the internet and sending emails.

In the past we have not had any need to access our servers
or our iSeries or AS/400's.
But starting this year we would like have remote access but
at the same time we do not want to open our network up being
hacked.
If we need to purchase some equipment such as firewall/vpn
appliance or Router etc. then that is possible.
