This is interesting. The system will not allow me to delete the message q QSYSOPR in QGPL. Issues a CPD2498 Diagnostic error
Message ID . . . . . . : CPD2498 Severity . . . . . . . : 30
Message type . . . . . : Diagnostic
Date sent . . . . . . : 02/14/08 Time sent . . . . . . : 10:03:00

Message . . . . : Deleting message queue QSYSOPR with DLTMSGQ command not
allowed.
Recovery . . . : If the message queue was damaged, then IPL the system
again. This causes the message queue to be deleted and created again. If the
message queue error recurs after an IPL, install the operating system again.

A couple of thoughts:

1. Since this message queue is getting printer messages, make sure
that all printer device descriptions are changed to a different
message queue and the writers ended and restarted so that nothing is
referencing the message queue.

2. If the error is based strictly on the name of the message queue
being QSYSOPR, you can try renaming the message queue and then
deleting it, or creating a library, moving the queue to that library,
and then deleting the library. Of course the rename and move might
also be rejected for a message queue named QSYSOPR. If nothing else,
the name of the object can probably be changed through SST or
something tricky like that to make it deletable.
