Has anyone read this book? Is it a worthwhile investment?
I haven't read the book. I expect it may prove interesting reading.
The author posts on these lists so you could search the archives for
his name. Also go to his web site
http://www.venera.com and read some
of the white papers on iSeries vulnerabilities. I looked at those
ages ago and while the papers are interesting I formed the opinion
that most of them relied on what I would consider non-native access
methods and that a properly set up system would not be vulnerable.
The most useful aspect of them seems to be informing traditional
iSeries administrators of exposures they might not otherwise
consider. You should read the white papers and form your own opinion.
Regards,
Simon Coulter.
