The third annual COMMON Innovation awards are once again upon us. Some of
the categories have changed for this year, but this is a great place to
showcase to the world some of the unique and cool things you have done with
your System i. Having been a judge in all the previous years I can tell you
some people are doing some very interesting things in their environment.
So, if you have done something impressive, and I know from the posts on this
forum that many of you have, I recommend you go to the website and get an
application. www.common.org/conferences/2008/annual/innovation.html There
are three categories this year. Two awards will be given out for the small
and mid size business category (those with less than 1,000 employees), two
for large enterprises (more than 1,000 employees), and one education
excellence award will go out to a college or university demonstrating strong
commitment to the platform.
The winners in each category get this crystal Tiffany award (In the shape of
an i), 5 free passes to the next Annual Conference, and a whole bunch of
recognition.
This has been a lot of fun for me over the years, and I know from talking to
all the finalists at the awards dinner, they all had a good time as well.
If you think you have done something cool in your shop, it probably is and I
recommend you submit an application.
