Internal to the CEC DVDs and CDs are not switchable (*UNLESS 
www.frankeni.com.)  You would have to have one external Optical drive on a 
switchable IOP/IOA combination and then you could create partitions. Add a 
2844 with a 5712 to your configuration as switchable and then SPT will let 
you move on. Of course it is assuming you're connecting a DVD drive to 
that 5712.

Not dedicated but available. That is one optical drive for the physical 
system is required and it can be switched between LPARs as needed. This 
rule has not changed.

Okay.  I'll bite.  I have a model 800 that appears capable of LPAR.  When 
I used the system 
planning tool it got mad when I only had one Optical.  How would I tell it 
that is switchable?
Are there only certain Optical models that allow that to happen?
