CREATE TABLE ROB/BACKUP AS(
SELECT *
FROM ROB/AAAKEY
WHERE RRN(AAAKEY) BETWEEN 1 AND 2)

is how you would do that in DB2.
(tested)
And, it creates and populates the temporary table in one step.
