Sure, if you're current on maint, it's only a matter of ordering 7.1
to get the disks (images) and keys...

Here in the US, it can all be done electronically through the Entitled
Software Support (ESS) web site.
https://www.ibm.com/servers/eserver/ess/OpenServlet.wss

Don't know if you can use that or a similar site.

I concur with the fact that it's not much work to go up to 7.1 instead
of 6.1 but, my question about licensing remains: Does a 720Express
with current SWSA and with keys for 6.1 automatically get keys for
7.1? i cited the case of a friend in which they got the dvds (from
IBM), but since the keys are delivered via the website we couldn't
confirm if they got the keys (i came along after the SWSA ended)...

Going to 7.1 now would give them a longer period of "not broken don't
fix it" before they are forced to upgrade again.

Not to mention that some of the features of the POWER7 hard can only
be taken advantage of if you're running 7.1.

but i doubt they will go 7.1 even if they
can (there is a big "not broken? don't fix it" here in Arg).
