Ah, QuestyCaptcha. I ended up doing that same thing around the end of
May for the TSI wiki, configuring a question/answer that only someone
with a true interest would know the answer to. I configured it to be
active for new registrations only.

Since then I've had only two spam incidents, both from accounts
created before I implemented QuestyCaptcha.

Works great against both bots and drive-by human spammers.
