Albert,

- be sure that journaling is started for the file!
- open interactive SQL with strsql
- set transaction isolation level repeatable read (any level above none will work, serializable will cause problems and is not usable on as400)
- update mytable set aField = aField where key = <myKey>
this will put an update lock to the record
rollback or commit will release the record.
