Alan, if you are asking if the delayed job can check on itself, the
answer is no. Delay job told the OS to not give you any processing time
until some time in the future. It may be possible for an external
process to get delay information about your delayed job, but I'm not
sure it could force it to have the delay changed. It would be
interesting to try, but we no longer process on our own box.

Subject: RE: Using the command DLYJOB in a CL program
Sorry about that - I didn't mean to say that I was using the DLYJOB to
aid me in debugging.
My question is only pertinent to the DLYJOB command itself - whether or
not the program is being debugged.
1. Is there any way of knowing the amount of elapsed time, and
therefore the amount of time left?
2. Is there a way of changing this timespan while the program is
running?

If you are only using the DLYJOB to start the debug, there is an easier
way.
Submit the job as HELD on job queue. Start the service job using the
job name, user, and number of the job held on queue.
Start debug from the same session you started the service job.
Release the job
You will be prompted to run the job or enter the debug commands.
1. You can look at the job log to see when the DLYJOB was executed and
calculate the time the job will resume.
2. Once the DLYJOB command is executed, you cannot change the wait time.

Subject: Using the command DLYJOB in a CL program
Hi everyone
I am in the process of testing a change that I have made to a CL program
At the moment, the program is on a DLYJOB DLY(300) command
My questions are:-
1. Is there any way of knowing the amount of elapsed time, and
therefore the amount of time left?
2. Is there a way of changing this timespan while the program is
running?
These are not deal breakers, but while I am waiting for the program to
continue (using STRDBG), it seems MUCH longer than 5 minutes have
elapsed Alan Shore Programmer/Analyst, Direct Response E:AShore@xxxxxxxx
