Finally got the boss to approve the funds and have gained access to a 7.3 machine (hosted), so we finally get to retire our old 520, which is stuck at 7.1 TR10.
I haven't done an OS upgrade in 6 years, and haven't migrated to a new machine since 2006, so I'm a little out of my element.
What's the best way to get migrated from 7.1 to 7.3? The two suggested methods from the vendor are:
#1: Slip upgrade. Full system save via Go SAVE 21, FedEx them the tape
Or
#2: FTP over SAVFs created using the individual SAV commands
What's the difference between these two methods (besides the obvious digital vs physical media)? Is there a difference?
Thanks
