You layout the report in advance and then just poke data into designated spots. I don't know how ACOM would do with the input data defining the layout.

I would be surprised if it cannot do the horizontal spacing. That seems like something any commercial forms software should be able to do, and I did look at ACOM personally several years ago. I don't remember any glaring deficiencies in functionality.
