Afternoon Guys,

A bit of a oh I am dumb moment; I created the folders using System I Navigator and had removed the tick from
allow save. "Sorry"

I am running V5R4, the only other question I have is regarding compression.

Am I right in thinking that SAV21 does not use software or hardware compression ?

therefore, and LTO-1 tape used for SAV21 would hold its native capacity?

Thanks
Chris

Subject: SAV21

Morning Folks,

Just something I wondered if someone could confirm,

I did a SAV21 Full System Save, but having DSPTAP *PRINT and calculated the amount of space used on the tape this equated to around 3.8 GB

Find so that about right for LIC, i5/OS, Licensed Programs and Libraries.

However, I know that I have around 40 GB of BIN / ISO images knocking around on the IFS attached to Image Catalog's

So, I am assuming that these files on the IFS are not included in SAV21 ? if that is the case what's the best method to back those up to a tape ?

Disclaimer

I know the obvious answer is going to be why are you leaving them on the IFS and do you really need to back them up!

Thanks
Chris
