Many thanks to all responders for the learned informative advices.
Perhaps I should have stated up front the reason for my question(s)
In light of the widespread cases of ransomware attacks I thought I'd
complement our
nightly backup to facilitate a full restore in case of... you know..
The point is to backup everything that does not get backed up by the
regular SAVXXX CMDS
(such as an application/http web servers configuration ,Java stuff and
such)
We quarterly(well almost) do a Sav21 with or without Cum/Grp PTF
installation
Every night we run:
SAVSECDTA
SAVCFG
SAVLIB LIB(*ALLUSR) SAVACT(*LIB) PVTAUT(*YES)
SAVLIB LIB(*IBM)
SAVDLO DLO(*ALL) for old times sake
and the venerable
SAV DEV('/QSYS.LIB/TAP01.DEVD') OBJ(('/*' *INCLUDE) ('/QSYS.LIB' *OMIT)
('/QDLS' *OMIT) ('/Some_NFS_Mounted_Directories' *OMIT)) SAVACT(*YES)
Thanks again
Gad
