We had two Linux lpars for Spectrum Protect (or it's forerunner). Guy in the next county over shaved a day off of his installation because he was using AIX instead of Linux solely because he had less drivers to download (or maybe the same consultant was more familiar with applying AIX drivers). When it came time for a system migration and upgrade of Spectrum Protect we went to AIX.
We originally had started out with one of it's even earlier forerunners which ran on IBM i. I was not impressed with the performance and the IBM i marketing director at IBM moved to TSM and he hated IBM i so much his first act was to cancel support for TSM on IBM i. That's when we moved TSM to Linux.
