Okay, the REGEXP_REPLACE question was interesting and I played with that
but that led to a WEIRD QUESTION:

I have two LPARs, A & B.
On A, the query works.
On B, it yields
SQL State: 42704
Vendor Code: -204
Message: [SQL0204] QQQSVREG in QSYS type *SRVPGM not found. Cause . . . . .
: QQQSVREG in QSYS type *SRVPGM was not found.

The service program on the QSYS/QQQSVREG and its authorities are apparently
identical on both 7.3 systems.

WT*?

Jerry Ven recently asked questions about extracting the numeric values
from a character field to use as a key for joining the file to another
file which has a numeric key.

I believe that someone had suggested using the SQL REGEXP_REPLACE scalar
function.
