You're not going to implement SFTP in ILE on your own, pretty much guaranteed.

If you don' t care to just script the open source one (which is the ORIGINAL from the AUTHORS of SFTP) either in bash, expect, or a scripting language like Python, then it's GoAnywhere or some other MFT program.

I have also implemented CL/AJS-triggered scripting for several customers, mostly just using bash.
