Andy

Many thanks for your prompt reply.

One vital point that I forgot to make was that on another XP Pro installation, with the same version of Client Access, the problem does not occur.

I can find no difference between the two installations although I suppose that there must be one.

none of the 3.x.x releases will be supported under Win XP.

I am aware of this, but since XP Pro crashes less often than Win95, I prefer XP Pro. The problem occurs even when CA is not running, so I am not complaining so much about CA but about XP Pro which may have been corrupted ? by installing CA (sometimes). Now if my Thinkpad had OS/400, that could not happen!

If you haven't located the service pack for the release you installed,
you can find it here:

Thanks for this link, but I could only see V3.1.3 and V3.1.0 in the list of service packs. Do you know where I can find those for V3.1.2? How do I find out what service packs are required for my installation of 3.1.2 (i.e what has already been installed?)

Perhaps I need a friendly UK based installation with the correct service packs! Anyone out there?

Thanks for your help

Rob
